Pug Social 2011 was a huge success. Thank you all for coming! In the next few weeks we will announce where our 10th anniversary pug social will be held. We are looking into holding it in Killington VT as they are letting us use a huge area free ( save 700.00 field rental) and inside bathrooms ( save 300 from porta potties- and its inside n clean). So this already saves us $1000.00 on expenses. I am working to secure lodging for us pug crazed people:) I will be back to let you know the details- stay tuned. - I created a Slideshow from the social for you all to enjoy. Again a HUGE thanks to everyone that helped in ANY way to make this a success. Karen Powers- founder gmpr.

Lodging info:

We have blocked out rooms at the GORGEOUS Cortina Inn in Killington. Dog Friendly- awesome space for dogs and will accommodate our every need.

Here is info on the Cortina:

There are a total of 54 rooms available. There are 43 rooms with 2 queen size beds...22 up and 21 down. 11 have outside ground access. 11 Have only access to outside via the interior hotel corridor on the lower level. All second floor rooms have outside access to a balcony which links to a staircase to the ground, similar to the Mountaineer. There is 1 Handicap Accessible room. There are acres of very nice mowed grounds to walk the dogs. Of the hotels available, it is by far the nicest. All the rooms have been completely renovated this past year. Go to www.cortinainn.com to see additional information.

The standard room with two queen beds will be $110/night, all dog fees included (normally they charge $20/dog). This will also include a full hot buffet breakfast each morning. These rooms are normally $159/night. There is a 6-person suite available at the usual rate...no discount given. Iblocked 25 rooms at this rate but anyone who calls and asks for the GMPR rate for those days will get the special rate.
They will do a Saturday night buffet dinner for us. $15/adult and $7.50 for children under 12, which they agreed to. We will work out the menu with the chef before the dinner signup.
They agreed to put out doggy waste buckets all over so when we walk the dogs and have waste deposits, we don't have to look far for a repository.
They will have the indoor pool available as well as the Jacuzzi and sauna.

There are other dog-friendly motels in the area, such as the Val Roc (no restaurant or other indoor amenities) and Butternut Inn (dining room available).
